resolve itself as its inflamed but can anyone answer this question please,,,,,, the last 3 or 4 days shes unable to keep her eyes open and for the first time her eyes are stinging when we put the drops in.. We are unable to see the consultant until wednesday as he,s away…. anyone know whats going on with it? she had lasik wavefront done. Thanks in advance everyone.
Hi there,
2 weeks on and still inflamed after LASIK surgery – interesting (did she have Intralase or Femtosecond flaps cut?). Do you have more detail regarding what her treated prescription was and who (company and consultant) were, her age, specific plan of treatment (distance correction or monovision?). Use of anti-biotic drops and or anti-inflammatory drops at this stage are also more typical of treatments involving Femtosecond lasers for flap creation. Is she suffering an acute aversion to light?
Dry eyes are common, sometimes causing the epithelium to rough up and blur vision. DLK is a distinct possibility depending on who has done the treatment, they normally attempt to medicate with Pred Forte or other strong anti-inflammatories.
Short of seeing her eyes, I can’t comment with much accuracy. Do email me with as much info as you can and I’ll attempt to be as helpful as possible.
Kind regards

Horaayy..there are 6 comment(s) for me so far ;)
It is natural for it to be inflamed for about a week and a half at most. If her eyes are burning because of the drops, even if it just started doing that all of the sudden, stop using them. The lasers could have caused some radiation and damaged the cells in the eye. That could be the cause of the blurry vision. Perhaps something in the bottle is reacting with the damaged cells?
Either way, stop using the bottle and tell the doctor that you are seeing. Optomitrist? You know, the eye doctor. If I got the name wrong.

hey. dont worry about it. my mom has been though the same thing. cant keep her eyes open, stressing out, , stuff like that. but, if it still goes on and on, ask your eye doctor about it.i did some research and most people have the same problem. there eyes are red or blurry or both. results are the best though.my mom wont stop talkin about how "HI-DEF" everything is.

contact the optomologist that did the surgery , hope you dint use one of the 500 per eye lasers. plus it doesn’t hurt to get a second opinion

Refractive surgery
The blurred vision should have been mostly to all gone in a couple of days … she needs to go back or better yet, get a second opinion.

It sounds like the flap is still open, go to the drugstore and get some polysporin eyedrops, they are eyedrops that help fight infection. Try not to rub her eyes and it might take a few days for her vision to return to normal, everyones healing time is different. I definitely would go to the opthamologist and have it checked out.
